5 Components of Reading Instruction

In 2000, the National Reading Panel’s seminal research report identified “5 Pillars” of Reading Instruction that have been instrumental to reading instruction. Research conducted over the last 20 years has led to the expansion of the original 5 Pillars—reflecting evidence from the growing body of Science of Reading research, including neuroscience, linguistics, and classroom-based research studies.
